Georgia Events



The 2019 Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research (IGHR), sponsored by the Georgia Genealogical Society, offers thirteen courses for various levels of instruction, from basic skills to advanced methodology and evidence analysis. Topics range from resources for specific geographic locations to in-depth skill development on specific subjects. Week-long courses are taught by premier genealogical educators who are leading researchers and scholars in the field.


Registration begins Saturday, 2 March 2019 on the IGHR website
Early Bird Registration: Saturday, 2 March – Wednesday, 15 May 2019
Registration ends Monday, 1 July 2019

IGHR attendees enjoy classes, most accommodations, and food under the same roof at the University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education & Hotel located on the campus of the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia.
